New Delhi, Sep 10 - The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), which manages government-run schools, was rapped by the Delhi High Court Thursday for not considering a retired air force personnel for the post of physical education trainer.
Imposing a cost of Rs.5,000 on KVS, a division bench of Justices Mukul Mudgal and Reva Khetarpal also pulled up the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) for not applying their mind while hearing the case.
'We must take note of the fact that the level of physical training in the air force is much higher than what civilians need to learn. The petitioner has full knowledge of the physical education and has served the air force for 20 years. Denying him the post of teacher is not justified.'
The court was hearing the plea of Girish Ahuja who was a ground training inspector in the air force.
