New Delhi, Aug 25 - Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken Tuesday said that the security related standard operating procedures (SOP) for cities like Delhi should be a mandatory part of safety measures in building bye-laws to ensure an in-built security mechanism for places like malls.
Good work done towards this objective by one state could be replicated by others, he said during a visit to the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD), where he held deliberations with the senior officers.
Maken said that states needed to be allocated adequate resources to ensure effective implementation of the National Police Mission.
He suggested that police reforms in the states could be linked to funding from the centre so as to expedite the pace of reforms.
