In Rajkot, a 52-year-old man died of swine flu, becoming the seventh victim of virus in the state, officials said.
Rajesh Ughad died at a private hospital. He was admitted to the hospital early last week and diagnosed positive for swine flu.
Meanwhile, the country also reported 137 swine flu positive cases Monday, pushing the total number of infected people to 2,909.
Tamil Nadu reported 45 new cases, followed by Delhi where 38 people tested positive for the flu.
The other cases were reported from Andhra Pradesh (3), Kerala (10), Karnataka (9), Maharastra (28), Jammu and Kashmir (3) and Goa (1).
Of the total 137 cases, only six are those who had a travel history.
'About 15,467 people have been tested so far out of which 2,909 are positive for Influenza A (H1N1),' a health ministry statement said.
