Bangalore, Aug 13 - Students of a Bangalore school were Thursday asked to go for swine flu test after a 26-year-old teacher died of the contagious virus.

The teacher, identified only as Rupa, was hospitalised Aug 7 and is the city's first casualty of swine flu that has claimed 20 lives in India.

The Sudarshan Vidya Mandir school, where she taught in kindergarten classes, was already closed till Monday after the swine flu scare in the city.

School principal Hema Narain said the death of Rupa, who was on leave from Aug 5, was a 'rude shock' for the school.

'We had no clue she was suffering from swine flu. We have asked children and teachers of the school to get themselves checked,' said Narain.
