Chandigarh, Aug 10 - Seventeen members of a family, who came in contact with an influenza A (H1N1) infected patient, were quarantined in their Sector 9 home here, an official said Monday.
According to health officials, some of the members of the family had gone to Delhi to meet their relatives Aug 5, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. One of their relatives who had come from London was tested positive for swine flu.
'On getting this report, we immediately quarantined the family members for a week in their house. So far, they have not shown any symptoms of infection but we cannot take any chance. Our team of doctors will examine them everyday at their home,' nodal officer for swine flu H.C. Gera said.
Another family of three members was also quarantined in their home in Sector 34 Saturday. They also met an infected patient during their recent trip to Delhi.
