A case under the Arms Act was registered against Sweety Singh at the Nizamuddin police station when the CBI raided his Jangpura house last week and recovered three firearms and over 30 live cartridges. The CBI handed over the matter to Delhi Police for further investigation related to possession of firearms.
Sweety Singh was arrested by sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last Friday on charges of accepting a Rs.1 crore bribe that he had allegedly demanded from Nashik-based contractor Ramraj Patil to facilitate the withdrawal of a case against Patil. The case was being investigated by the SC/ST commission that Buta Singh heads.
Sweety Singh is in CBI custody till Aug 5.
