Ranchi, July 31 - Three kidnappers were killed in a gun battle with police here Friday and the son of a businessman was rescued, police said.

Lav Kumar, 22, son of Banti Bhatia, was abducted Thursday night when he was returning home. Bhatia owns Ranchi's largest hotel Capitol Hill, two restaurants and sweet shops. The family had informed about the kidnapping Thursday night to police.

Two youths were arrested by the police from Barhi in Hazaribagh district, on the Ranchi-Patna national highway early Friday. They were reportedly carrying the mobile SIM card and clothes of Lav Kumar.

'The arrested men gave a lead to the police. We raided a house in Dhruva area of Ranchi that belonged to Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC).
