The state government also ordered 'routine' transfers and postings of some inspectors general of police, deputy inspectors general and senior superintendents of police.

Sheikh Owais has been posted as inspector general of police (personnel and trainings), B. Srinivas as inspector general of police (headquarters), Ram Lubaiya as inspector general of police (security) and Raja Aijaz Ali as inspector general of police (crime).

S.M. Sahai, inspector general of police (crime), has been transferred and posted as officer on special duty attached with the state's resident commissioner in New Delhi.

Besides, three deputy inspectors general have also been transferred - including Rajesh Kumar who has been posted as deputy inspector general of police (special security) guarding Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
