'Both events are very important for our shooters and we are keeping our fingers crossed. We need the venue ready before the event so that we can prepare for it.'
'It's mandatory for the Commonwealth championships to be held one year before the Commonwealth Games at the same venue,' said Singh.
'At present our shooters are practising at various other facilities.'
Reacting to Sports Minister M.S.Gill's statement that the sports federations are putting extra pressure by lining up too many test events before the Games, Digvijay said: 'No event is staged without government's knowledge. We have to take permission from the government.'
CGOC secretary general Lalit Bhanot, however said all venues will be completed in time.
'Let me tell you that 80 per cent of the work at all the venues will be completed before December 31st, except cycling and rugby venues where work started a bit late. But those two will also also be completed in time for the competition. No test events have been postponed,' Bhanot said.
