Srinagar, Sep 14 - Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra, at present on a five-day visit to the Ladakh region, Monday visited some forward army positions in the region.
Though Vohra's visit has been described as a scheduled visit, it comes in the wake of media reports about Chinese incursions into the Indian side of the border in Ladakh and denial of such reports by the foreign offices of the two countries.
Vohra, accompanied by Lt. General P.C. Bhardwaj, the general-officer-commanding of the Indian Army's Northern Command, and Lt. General S.K. Singh, commander of 14th corps in the Ladakh region, visited the Siachin glacier, carried out an aerial reconnaissance of the world's highest altitude battlefield and also interacted with the troops guarding the country's border in the most inhospitable weather conditions.
