'By December 2010, we believe the state will get a network of nearly 500 km of roads under the work done in 20 of the 29 projects,' he said.

Singh said that the six-laning of the road between Delhi and Agra will start soon. 'It would be the first six-laning project for Uttar Pradesh, for which we would go for the bidding process in October.'

According to the minister, preparation of a feasibility report for construction of ring road in Kanpur, Varanasi, Aligarh, Meerut and Lucknow was underway. 'We believe we would get the first feasibility report from Varanasi,' he added.
