Bangalore, Sep 13 - With five new swine flu deaths being reported from Karnataka, the death toll due to the H1N1 virus in the state has reached 62, a health official said here Sunday.
Two deaths due to swine flu were reported from Bangalore, and one each in Hubli, Gadag and Gulbarga.
However, the report confirming that all five tested positive for the virus was received only on Sep 12, the health official said.
Bangalore victims include a 62-year-old woman who died in a private hospital Sep 8 and a 44-year-old-man who expired in a government hospital on Sep 10.
Moreover, a one-year-old infant boy succumbed to the virus at a government hospital in Hubli on Sep 1.
The fourth and fifth H1N1 victims include a 28-year-old man who died at a private hospital in Gadag on Sep 9 and a five-year-old boy who died at a private hospital in Gulbarga on Sep 8.
