Chennai, Sep 11 - Power equipment major Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has won a Rs.1,300-crore order from NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Co Ltd (NTECL) for supplying boilers, turbines and generators.
NTECL, which is setting up a 3x500 MW power plant at Vallur near here, is a joint venture between power utility NTPC and Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.
BHEL's scope of work in the present order includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, erecting and commissioning steam turbines, generators, boilers and associated equipment besides controls and instrumentation systems.

Pakistani traders at Kolkata fair
Kolkata: Altogether 30 traders from Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Egypt were among over 300 participants at the India International Mega Consumer Fair 2009 inaugurated here Friday.
Manufacturers from Thailand will participate at an event Sep 16 for forging alliances with India-based dealers and distributors, said organisers of the fair, that will continue till Sep 22.

HCC project gets green certification
New Delhi: HCC Real Estate, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hindustan Construction Co, Friday said it has received the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for a green building project in Mumbai, 247Park, which also has a helipad on its rooftop.
