Sankarnarayanan was not dissolving the state assembly to facilitate Election Commission announcing the dates for the elections.
Even the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), which has four legislators, has announced its members will resign after getting clearance from the central leaders.
Meanwhile, the Congress has termed the BJP move as 'politically motivated'.
'The BJP is playing politics over elections. The elections will be held in the state. It is not prudent to hold elections during festivals like Deepawali, Durga Puja and others,' Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who was in Ranchi, said.
Jharkhand is under president's rule since Jan 19, and this was extended by parliament till Jan 19, 2010. The term of the present assembly lasts till February 2010.
