He received three stitches and was on Thursday shifted to the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital,' the official added.

He later went to the police station along with his family and complained about the incident.

'The five accused - Kushmakar, Yogesh, Vinod, Raju, Satish - and a minor have been arrested. Four more are likely to be arrested on Saturday,' the official said.

'The victim had joined the institute on Tuesday. He told us that he was ragged on that day as well. We have informed the institute authorities as well to take action against the accused students. The victim is a resident of Nand Nagari in east Delhi and his father is a driver,' he added.
