Banerjee also alleged that Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had 'misinformed and misled' the people.

'The centre has planned and funded the Metro project. But the chief minister has never mentioned that,' Banerjee said while addressing a rally here on the occasion of the foundation day of the Trinamool Congress' student wing Chhatra Parishad.

Banerjee also gave a call for laying siege Sunday on the Rajarhat police station on the city's north eastern fringes against the violence in the area and the recovery of weapons from inside a resort in the area.
