However, Bhagwat did express his disappointment over the infighting in the party.

'Whatever is happening is not right, it should stop. Nobody finds it good,' he said.

When asked if the RSS would help the BJP get out of its present crisis, Bhagwat was very guarded in his response.

'The Sangh (RSS) has its own task (of uniting the society). If the party needs some help and advice we will give it. But what has to be done and what has not be done is the decision of the party.

'Sangh ke khush nakhush hone ka sawal nahi, ab jo kuch karna hai woh party karegi (There is no question of the RSS being happy or unhappy, now whatever has to be done, the BJP will do,' he replied to a question.

Refusing to divulge the details of his meetings with BJP president Rajnath Singh Thursday, Bhagwat said: 'He met me after a long time and discussed a lot of things, including the present situation.'
