'MoU with Panjab University will help us in the sharing of knowledge data bases; setting up of laboratories and administrative frameworks for our faculties on the lines of this varsity,' he added.

Another delegate, Mamadou Tangara, president of the University of the Gambia said: 'We do not want to compromise on our academic standards, and that is why we have come to the Panjab University.'

Appreciating the sentiments of the delegates, Sobti said: 'It is every country's social responsibility to spread and share knowledge and we are already doing this by signing MOUs with the universities of various developing countries.'

However, he maintained that the final decision about the signing of MOU would be taken only after the recommendations of the committee especially set up for the purpose.
