However, it was a tough match for Virali-Murugesan, who battled past Korean qualifier Seung-Jae Lee 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (8). The eighth seeded Indian has run into another Korean -- Kim Young-Jun, seeded third -- in the next round.
In another quarterfinal, Australia's K.Balakrishnan will take on Korean Jae-Won Choi after both got past Indian players in the second round.
Balakrishnan tamed Indian Vivek Shokeen 6-3, 6-3 while Choi defeated sixth seeded Rohan Gajjar 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
