New Delhi, Aug 25 - In a bid to urgently address the national capital's monsoon woes, Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna Tuesday directed senior officials of the city to prepare plans to strengthen the civic system and consider installing solar powered traffic signals.
Khanna chaired a meeting of senior officers from public works department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), New Delhi Municipal Corporation, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi government and Delhi traffic police to discuss with all the stakeholders waterlogging and traffic problems on the Delhi roads subsequent to the rains.
All stakeholders were directed to augment and prepare short-term measures within a week and find appropriate solutions to the waterlogging problem.
To improve the road user behaviour and the traffic discipline in the capital, the lt-governor directed the joint commissioner, traffic police, to educate the road user through the media.
