IBM to deploy IT solutions at Nomura Services
Bangalore: International Business Machines (IBM) India will deploy its end-to-end IT solutions at Nomura Services India to bolster the leading financial services group's business continuity, disaster and system failure response strategies.
The multi-year IT services agreement will enable IBM to provide Nomura with an in-city work area recovery solution to recover critical business functions in the event of an interruption at a primary site, the IT major said Tuesday.
'A comprehensive solution comprising backup offices through our work area recovery centre in Mumbai, and a backup technology capability centre have been set up to ensure Nomura the necessary level of business continuity should a disaster strik,' IBM India director Neeraj Sharma said.

Oudh Sugar Mills back into profit
Kolkata: Oudh Sugar Mills, owned by the K.K. Birla Group, has reported a net profit of Rs.19.17 crore for 2008-09.
The company had been in loss during 2006-08.
Oudh Sugar also reported a gross revenue of Rs.583 crore in 2008-09, said chairman and managing director C.S. Nopany.
