When they went for the check they found nothing in the mentioned room but continued their rounds in the hostel and found juniors and seniors in one room.'

The students concerned, however, said they were discussing 'studies'.

Kumar is chairing the inquiry for the freshers while the hostel dean H.H. Das will be dealing with seniors during the inquiry.

The students' dean said there had been no cases of ragging at AIIMS in the recent past adding 'there is very strong vigilance and support from senior students to check ragging'.

The final report on the inquiry will be submitted to the director Tuesday, Kumar informed adding that 'appropriate action will be taken thereafter'.
