Even though the police are yet to confirm the role played by two known lumpen elements - Om Prakash and P.Rajesh, who are believed to have been travelling along with George at the time of the incident, unconfirmed reports indicate that the two are in police custody.

Meanwhile, the police have also taken into custody 11 people from Changnacherry and are questioning them.

A close relative of George told IANS that the funeral service was held Sunday evening at Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta district.

'Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan took part in the funeral. He said that police have cast their net and the guilty would be booked soon. So far, we are happy with the progress of the investigation,' said the relative.

The St George's School in Delhi is owned by the family. The principal of the school is Sara George, mother of the deceased. His father is the Sabha secretary of the Kottayam headquartered Orthodox Church.
