'We came to know of China fiasco only when we enquired with BAI on Aug 12 about our participation. To our dismay we were told that our entries have not been forwarded to China. We were surprised as we had submitted to BAI a list of tournaments we intend playing in way back in April. It is very disappointing to miss a major tournament as it will have a bearing on our rankings,' a player said.

Told about the players' insistence that they had given BAI a list of tournaments they want to play, Verma said: 'Players normally tick the tournaments they want to play once they get the calendar, but they are told to confirm their participation before every tournament as some of them invariably pull out citing various reasons, at times injuries.'
