Despite facing contempt charges for throwing a slipper at Justice Arijit Pasayat (since retired) March 20 this year, the women demanded death penalty for some judges.
The bench, which also included Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice R.M. Lodha, had been giving them a patient hearing even after the attorney general expressed his reservation against the apex court's magnanimity to the women, who often showed signs of being paranoid, trusting none and suspecting one and all, including individuals and institutions.
During the court proceedings Thursday, the women had repeated verbal duels with judges, who appeared to be at their wit's end in controlling their verbal assault.
