Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 19 - Despite the progress the country has made during the last 62 years, '60 percent of rural India still has no connectivity', Congress general secretary and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi said Wednesday, as he called upon students of an information technology institute here to 'reach out to the poor'.
Rahul Gandhi, who was in the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Allahabad branch of Amethi in Tikarmaphi locality to attend the certificate distribution function, said: 'During the past 62 years of independence, India has progressed a lot. However, 60 percent of rural India still has no connectivity -- in terms of roads, communication and electricity. I would only like to call upon you to reach out to the poor, get close to the problems to understand them better.
