Incidentally, Bihar Tuesday reported its first swine flu case with a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official testing positive for the viral disease, officials said here.
The official is currently undergoing treatment here and recovering. 'His condition is stable and he is showing signs of recovery after being administered the swine flu vaccine Tamiflu,' said a health department official.
According to sources, there have been two cases with strong symptoms of swine flu reported to the Patna Medical College and Hospital here in the last two days. The hospital sent their swab samples to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, New Delhi, for confirmation of the H1N1 virus. The influenza A (H1N1) has infected more than 1,900 patients in the country and killed 25 people.
