The festival is being organised by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), which is the nodal agency for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Kamat also said that in a couple of days the state government will dispatch a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to the union ministry for information and broadcasting as part of the preparations for the forthcoming IFFI.

'The information and broadcasting ministry will return the document after applying their mind, following which the plans for IFFI 2009 will be set in motion,' Kamat said.
