The revenue department had expressed concerns about the company's shareholding structure, its source of funding and the lack of clarity about the company.

Similarly, the proposal by Unitech Wireless (Tamilnadu) to raise its foreign shareholding up to 74 percent has been deferred.

At present, Norwegian telecom giant Telenor has 49 percent stake in Unitech Wireless.
