Such pieces of information and intelligence rather turn out to be fatal in tackling terrorism as they are neither actionable nor authentic,' said Mayawati.
'I doubt the state governments have ever received any intelligence from the central intelligence agencies, which are specific and actionable,' said Mayawati.
She urged the central government to improve the quality of its intelligence at the earliest.
Mayawati also questioned the efficacy of the SSB, deployed by the union government along the Indo-Nepal border in seven districts of Uttar pradesh, in checking cross-border movement of smugglers and terrorists.
She urged the central government to fund a state government plan of Rs.1,503 crore to secure the border.
