New Delhi, Aug 17 - Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has demanded strict immigration control measures like photographing and finger printing all foreign nationals on their arrival in India.

Speaking at the Chief Ministers' Conference on internal security here Monday he said: 'Strict immigration control measures such as photographing and finger printing all foreigners on arrival and web-based passport information system should be made accessible to the state intelligence wings.'

He listed out his earlier requests to the centre on increasing the presence of Coast Guard and navy to safeguard the eastern coastal sector, creating a common database on matters related to internal security, the central funding of the purchase of weaponry and equipment for anti-terrorism and anti-sabotage operations, and expediting the process of funding modernisation.
