He surely wouldn't like to lose against an old guy like me. I can play freely,' said Gade after beating Hong Kong's Yan Kit Chan 21-11, 21-12 Thursday.
'I will give whatever I have to beat him. I will fight for every point and try to make it difficult for him,' said Gade, the Korean Open winner in January.
'The Beijing match was close and I played with a broken rib. But I will take confidence from the fact that I have beaten him in the past, in the China Masters.'
Gade said he has adapted to the conditions here well.
'It has been good so far. The shuttle was slow today, but I kept the speed high forcing Chan to make some mistakes,' he said.
Fifth seed Dan, who prevailed over Dicky Palyama of the Netherlands 21-11, 21-11, said he is not taking the match against Gade lightly.
'He is the best in Europe. Peter has improved since the Olympics and I have to be at my best. I have to be well prepared for the match.'
