Amritsar is around 250 km from the state capital Chandigarh.
As per the official records of the health department, 25 positive cases of swine flu have been reported in the state so far.
'All the 25 patients, who were tested positive, have been discharged from the hospitals after giving them proper treatment. All of them have recovered well,' said the spokesman.
The Punjab government has also urged the union health ministry to direct the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to approve two government medical colleges of Amritsar and Patiala as nodal centres to tackle the spread of influenza A (H1N1).
