Guwahati, Aug 12 - The samples of at least three patients displaying swine flu symptoms in Assam have been sent for tests to Delhi even as central health experts have trained 100 doctors on how to tackle an outbreak of the disease.
An Assam health department spokesperson said a three-member team of experts from the central health ministry imparted a daylong training to 100 doctors in Guwahati.
'The doctors drawn from all the districts of Assam had exhaustive training on dealing with swine flu. Once these doctors return to their workplaces, they in turn will train and share their experience with other doctors and paramedical staff,' Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told IANS.
As part of the drill, the Assam government Tuesday dispatched stocks of Tamiflu and protective gear, besides testing kits, for doctors to all the district headquarters.
'We are taking no chances and hence gearing up to meet any challenge,' the minister said.
