Prasad said 25 were selected for teaching posts but the institute shall start with 11 teachers. 'The number (of teachers) will certainly be good in two months time.'

He told reporters that 1,419 students are graduating with under-graduate and post-graduate degrees at this year's convocation of IIT Delhi.

'Besides 1,419 students, we are awarding certificates to 181 PhD scholars - a 23 percent increase than last year,' said Bala Krishnan, dean of post-graduate studies at IIT Delhi. The degrees will be awarded in two days beginning Saturday.
