In the week ended (July 30 to Aug 5), there was a significant decrease in rainfall over central and northwest India compared to last week.

'There is improvement in cumulative rainfall of the season from deficient to normal condition over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It deteriorated from deficient to scanty rainfall condition over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and from normal to deficient condition over Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, parts of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh,' the statement said.
