Besides common party workers, all prominent party leaders from different parts of the state gathered at the party office to hear Gandhi's address.

The party office has started buzzing with activity only after the Congress success in the May general elections, when it romped home with 21 of the state's 80 Lok Sabha seats - a performance largely credited to Gandhi, a Lok Sabha member from Amethi.

Gandhi held a closed-door meeting of the party coordination committee where he was stated to have spelt out his 'mission 2012', which aims at installing the Congress back in power in this most populous state.
