New Delhi, Aug 6 - The government Thursday faced embarrassment in the Lok Sabha when the opposition questioned it for moving a bill in the absence of two ministers concerned and forced the adjournment of the house for about an hour.
The proposed legislation, Rubber (Amendment) Bill 2009, was being moved by Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Prithviraj Chavan in the absence of Commerce Minister Anand Sharma and his deputy Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Finally, the government had to bow down and agree to defer the introduction of the bill.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) deputy leader in Lok Sabha Sushama Swaraj raised the issue of the absence of the two ministers soon after Chavan stood up to the move the bill.
