Nath said: 'He (Panda) had also suggested me the title of the book - 'Digbalaya Pathe' (In the Path of Horizon). I also discussed with him the cover page.'

The matter of the proposed book turned up in the investigations as the 'suicide note' Panda left refers to it. Police had then contacted the publisher to know if there was anything in the manuscript that could help the investigation.

'After police contacted me, I went through the manuscript. There is nothing in the book which hints about the killing. But police have requested us to give them a copy of the manuscript, if required,' he said.
