It was peak marriage season so most of the parlours were already booked. However, after visiting countless places we managed to get the make-up done at some other beauty parlour,' she added.
Shivani and Shruti filed separate complaints at the district consumer disputes redressal forum here.
During the hearing of the case, counsel for Cleopatra beauty parlour said Shivani and Shruti had not gone to the parlour on Nov 2, 2008 and the shop wasn't closed since it was peak marriage season.
However, the forum, after hearing all the arguments, Tuesday ordered the owners of the beauty parlour to pay Rs.10,000 as compensation to the sisters and Rs.1,100 as cost of the litigation proceedings.
The forum also told them to pay Rs.8,430 and Rs.6,430 to Shivani and Shruti respectively. This was the amount they paid at another beauty parlour for the make-up.
