The incident took place July 18. However, the parents came to know about it July 20 when the boy suddenly broke down while studying at home.
Following the complaint from the child's parents, an enquiry was ordered by the Chandigarh administration July 23. Sub Divisional Magistrate Niharika Rai submitted her report Monday to the education secretary.
The report was also sent to the government's standing counsel for legal opinion. The counsel submitted his report Tuesday in which he said that either the school should take appropriate action against the accused teacher or the administration would move court.
However, the teacher Reema Talwar denied all the allegations and said that she was being falsely implicated. She said she had no personal grudge with the boy and she did not slap him.
