New Delhi, July 31 - Delhi Chief Minister Friday said the national capital is set to become disabled-friendly with the distribution of free artificial limbs in a series of camps to be organised over a period of one year.
The Delhi government also plans to frame a detailed policy for the welfare of the disabled.
The first two-day camp for free distribution of prosthetic aids was inaugurated by Dikshit at the Prathiba Vikas Vidyalaya here. She said this was the first camp of the series which will be held over the course of this year.
'The target is to cover about 4,000 beneficiaries in a year. The beneficiaries will be provided with on-the-spot and free of cost prosthetic aids such as Jaipur Artificial Limbs for lower limbs, lightweight polio calipers with sports shoes, crutches and cotton made leprosy footwear,' Dikshit said.
