Sankaranarayanan said 11 districts have been declared as drought hit, and families here, coming under the below poverty level (BPL) would be provided free rations.
On the Maoist issue, he said it was not the concern of a single state only. 'The Maoist issue is also a political problem and development can address the issue,' he said.
The governor also indicated that the elections would be held soon in the state. 'My aim is to ensure free and fair elections in the state and focus on the poor,' he said.
Jharkhand has been under president's rule since Jan 19.
