'A FIR (first information report) has been registered and we are interrogating the students,' said Superintendent of Police (City) Vijay Bhushan.
On Tuesday, 19 B.Tech final year students -- all girls -- were fined for ragging newly admitted girls at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Allahabad.
'Besides a fine of Rs.50,000 each, the institute has also withdrawn the scholarship of the girls and they were also expelled from the hostel,' said M.D. Tiwari, director of the institute.
However, no case has been lodged against the students.
