Lucknow, July 29 - A dismissed Uttar Pradesh police sub-nspector, one of the 11 suspects in a government engineer's murder in December last year, was Wednesday sent to jail for interrogation till Aug 2.
A court in Auraiya district ordered sub-inspector Hoshiar Singh's police remand after days of his judicial custody came toan end.
'We finally managed to get Singh on remand, who was in judicial custody,' Additional Superintendent of Police Rajendra Kumar told IANS.
Public Works Department engineer Manoj Gupta was murdered allegedly by ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator Shekhar Tiwari Dec 24 after he refused to give donation for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's Jan 15 birthday celebration.
Gupta was beaten to death in a government guest house in Auraiya district.
