Since Monday afternoon, Delhi received a record 126 mm of rain which brought the city to a standstill.
According to Kohli, two problems caused him the loss.
'First, after the Metro accident near the Lady Shri Ram College July 12, the drainage system has been choked. Secondly, the road leading to our houses in East of Kailash are actually two feet below the road level.
'This caused the immense water seepage. I have written to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) commissioner to do the needful and am awaiting their response,' Kohli said.
On second thoughts, he added: 'But nothing can compensate the loss that I have had.'
