A case was registered against Narayan Rao under section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 7, 8 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The CBI said they had recovered Rs.900,000 in cash from the Delhi residence of Narayan Rao, as well as documents about bank accounts and properties, which are being investigated.
