Kollam (Kerala), July 26 - For the first time in many years, 40-year-old Najma has renewed faith that her husband Nasir Abdul Aziz, in a Sri Lankan jail on drug trafficking charges since 2002, will come home.
With Indian media taking renewed interest in the plight of about 37 Tamil Nadu and Kerala residents in Sri Lankan jails, Najma and her two children hope that Nazir can return home soon.
'He used to do business in textiles by carrying materials from Chennai and selling them in Sri Lanka. Soon after he was arrested with drugs in his bag, he called home to say that he has been trapped. We have been seeking help from all quarters. So far nothing has happened,' Najma told reporters Sunday at her two-room house in a coastal village near here.
