Raipur, July 22 - Traffic was blocked on the Kolkata-Mumbai National Highway-6 in Chhattisgarh early Wednesday and thousands of people of low-lying areas were hit as heavy rains continued to lash the state.
All the 18 districts of the state have been receiving heavy rain since Tuesday with low-lying areas and roads being inundated. About 30,000 people of state capital Raipur were hit as their houses were submerged.
The situation is likely to worsen with the meteorological department predicting more rains across Chhattisgarh.
'The state is expected to receive heavy rainfall for two more days with a low pressure area formed over the state's northern region,' Director of the meteorological department M.
