Under the drive, special attention would also be paid to removal of debris from congested areas of the walled city, and Sadar, Paharganj and Karol Bagh zones.

In addition, all road signs, marks of lanes, zebra crossing are being repainted, he said.

The officers of horticulture department have been asked to ensure that all public parks are cleaned of overgrown grass, garbage and necessary repairs are carried out on masonary structures.

'Special greening efforts shall be carried out at all municipal parks,' the official added.

The drive will also target food hygiene.

Roadside vends for food items have been asked to arrange dustbins at their shops for waste material, said the official, adding that 'action against vendors selling cut-fruits, sugarcane juice and unlicensed mobile food vans shall be intensified.'
